Some estimates are that at least 60,000 deaths can be attributed to Condor, and possibly more. Through the exchange of information, resources, torture techniques, and political prisoners, these countries intended to annihilate all political opposition, which they referred to as «the communist threat » or the «subversives ». Operation Condor was a secret plan that, at the height of the Cold War, brought together six Latin-American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay) living under right-wing military regimes.
